Ugo Moyne is one of the rising stars of British rugby. He was born in Islington and was therefore very keen and happy to lend his support to Mildmay Community Partnership's (MCP) Urban Rugby Project. Ugo plays his club rugby over at Harlequins in west London, having helped them to reach the latter stages of the Guinness Premiership and Heineken Cup this year. He won his first England caps before Christmas, also played throughout the 2009 6-Nations and was subsequently selected for the 2009 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa.
Urban Rugby aims to:
'Mildmay Community Partnership’s interest in rugby union and the urbanisation of the game comes from its desire to broaden opportunities and experiences for young people. Importantly we recognise that rugby allows all shapes and sizes to be involved and key to the game is respect for ones opponents. We are aiming on running a series of coaching session in the summer of 2009.
We are currently looking for companies who are interested in assisting us, in terms of equitable commercial sponsorship. It's a fantastic Corporate Social Responsibility opportunity for a company to assist a registered charity and see their interest in rugby and community development to flourish with one of the UK's most highly regarded team-sports'.
